How do you manage to stow 3 months of food in a 40 ft sailboat? There's a lot of things to think about when planning a long passage and food is one of the most important. Join us in this episode to find out how we did and to see more of our DIY projects! We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved in to our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds takes us. Ukraine Trip 2017, Ukraine Travel Guide, Ukraine Tourism & Vacations Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube WARNING ( 1 ): ========== There are risks in traveling to eastern Ukraine because of the war between the Donbass irregular forces and the Ukrainian forces in the eastern areas of Luhansk and Donetsk. While tourists are unlikely to be the intended targets of violence, current protests cause complications to visitors, since services are disrupted. ----------------- Ukraine (Ukrainian: Україна) is a country in Eastern Europe. It lies at the northwest end of the Black Sea, with Russia to the east, Belarus to the north, Poland to the northwest, Slovakia and Hungary to the west, and Romania to the south west and south, with Moldova in between. Most of the country (the central and eastern portions) was formerly a part of Russian Empire; after the October Revolution and the Civil War, the entire country, known as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, was a part of the Soviet Union. Ukraine is the second-largest country in Europe, albeit with a slightly declining population. See in Ukraine ================ Ukraine is a country worth seeing and visiting over and over. See UNESCO listed Lviv centre, Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans in Chernivtsi, Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Pechersk Lavra in Kiev. Do in Ukraine ================== Hike in Carpathian Mountains around Rakhiv. Conquer 2,061m Hoverla, part of the Chornohora mountain range. Kayak down Dniester and admire Kamianets-Podilskyi and Khotyn castles. Chill out on Crimea beaches in summer. Buy in Ukraine ==================== Travel Warning WARNING ( 2 ): Be aware that is illegal to take any items of historical importance out of the country. This includes badges, medals, icons, historical paintings, etc. This law is strictly enforced at all exit points of the country and one risks heavy fines and/or imprisonment. To shop you will most certainly need local currency (hryvnia). British pound, Euro, US dollar and other currency exchange points are very common in cities, and the exchange rate is usually very fair (except in Kiev, where the exchange rate is higher compared to other cities). However, sometimes and in some banks there are problems with cash deposits (or that is the official version), so do not exchange too many dollars unless you're traveling to the more provincial areas. When doing person-to-person payments you might be able to pay in Euros or US dollars, as those are widely recognized, and you might in fact get better rates than in official exchange points. However, be careful, because it's not legal to make payments with foreign currency. If you want to buy any kind of artwork in Kiev, the place to visit is Andriivskij Uzviz (Андріївський узвіз in Ukrainian, Андреевский спуск in Russian). If you don't want to have trouble exchanging money keep one of these currencies: EUR, RUB, USD. In South and East Ukraine, it is almost impossible to exchange other currency. In Western Ukraine (especially in Lviv) PLN (polish zloty) can also be exchanged without any problems. Eat in Ukraine =================== Ukrainian cuisine is quite tasty, but just as other cuisines in the region uses a lot of fat ingredients, especially in the festive dishes. Traditional local food includes "salo" (salted lard) and soups like "borshch" (борщ in Ukrainian) made of red beets or "solianka" (солянка in Ukrainian) which is a delicious meat soup. The first, salo, is perhaps something you might not make yourself try - however is a delicious side dish, as for the soups being a must-have dish. If you are outside a big city or in doubt about food, exercise caution and common sense about where you buy food. Try to buy groceries only in supermarkets or large grocery stores, always check the expiration date, and never buy meat or dairy products on the street (you can buy them at the market but not near the market). In most towns in Ukraine there are some very good restaurants. Read the menu boards posted by the entrance of every establishment to help you to choose. You may also find nice places to eat not by signs, but just by the smoke of traditional wood fires. These are often places where they serve traditional Ukrainian food, including very tasty shashlyky (шашлики in Ukrainian). Restaurateurs are very friendly, and, more often than not, you will be one of their first foreign visitors. Next to the "borshch", you might also ask for "varenyky" (вареники in Ukrainian, dumplings filled with meat, vegetables or fruits) or "deruny" (деруни, potato pancakes). You have to try varenyky with potatoes and cottage cheese in a sautéed onion and sourcream sauce, a fantastic dish. These are just starters, but ones that might fill you up quickly.

Booking Website: http://luxuoricollection.com Magazine http://luxuori.com Tahiti -- Moorea -- Bora Bora -- island names that evoke a wonderful state of mind, seducing honeymooners, romantics, adventurers, and vacationers looking for escape. Here, around these South Seas isles, a romantic sunset sea sends giant curls of turquoise breaking onto the colorful reefs that protect the tranquil lagoons of warm, bright-emerald waters and white coral-sand beaches. Tahiti covers over two million square miles of the South Pacific Ocean and is comprised of 118 islands spread over five great archipelagos. What Is the Time Difference? The islands are just two hours behind Pacific Standard Time. During Daylight-Saving Time (March to late October) they are three hours behind. Time in the Marquesas is half an hour ahead of the rest of the islands. Will I Need to Exchange Money? Upon arrival most visitors exchange some money at the airport or at their hotels. Since most credit cards are readily accepted in all tourist areas, it is not necessary to exchange large amounts. The currency is the French Pacific Franc (XPF). Will I Need a Passport/Visa? For stays of up to 90 days, there are no visa requirements for citizens of the U.S. or Canada carrying a US or Canadian Passport. A foreigner with a residence card for the U.S. is not exempt from the above requirements and should consult the French Consulate based in the U.S. for information. Is English Spoken? French and Tahitian are the official languages, but English is spoken and understood in tourist areas. Brushing up on a few basic French phrases and learning Tahitian greetings are appreciated. What About Tipping? Tipping is not customary in Polynesian culture and is not expected. However, tipping is welcomed for exemplary service. What Are the Seasons and Climate? Cooled by gentle ocean breezes, the climate is ideal. Being tropical but moderate, the climate features sunny, pleasant days and an average yearly air and water temperature of 80∞F. Summer is from November through April, when the climate is slightly warmer and more humid. Winter is from May through October, when the the climate is slightly cooler and dryer. Click here for the Weather Report What Should I Wear? The climate and lifestyle on the islands call for casual and comfortable clothing. Pack loose-fitting, natural fabrics and plenty of shorts. Pareus and swimsuits can be worn during the daytime at the resorts, while casual shirts and walking shorts provide the most comfort during island explorations. For dinner, casual slacks and sport shirts are the best choice for men while cool sundresses are most appropriate for women. Is the Water Safe to Drink? Tap water is good in most hotels and restaurants. Bottled water is also available everywhere in stores, markets, and hotels Do I Need Health Certifications? No shots or certifications are required from North America. Regardless of the traveler's nationality, entry from an infected area of the world as defined by the World Health Organization requires certifications. What Is the Voltage? Hotels use either 110 or 220 volts, depending on the location. A converter/adapter is often required for appliances you bring, including computers. How Do I Get Around? The most inexpensive and common form of transportation is the public bus system. On Tahiti there are now two types of buses: the open-air trucks called Le Truck and the RTC large white coaches. Both operating frequently in Papeete and around the island. Le Truck also operates on most other islands. Taxis can be hired at most hotels, airports, and ferry terminals. For scenic tours around the islands, try escorted excursions by boat, 4x4 safari, bus, or helicopter. What Activities Are There to Do? Tahiti is the perfect place to do everything or nothing at all. Popular activities include 4x4 safaris, nature hikes, scuba diving, snorkeling, canoeing, sailing, jet skiing, wind-surfing, surfing, bike riding, tennis, golf on the island of Tahiti, horseback riding, deep-sea fishing, shopping, circle-island tours, helicopter tours, museums stops and archaeological tours. Rental cars are available at most airports for drivers over 21 years of age with a valid driver's license. Major credit cards are usually required for drivers under 25. Because of the small size of many islands, and the uniqueness of many circle island tours, you may find renting a car unnecessary. Area: 4,167 sq km (1,609 sq miles). Population: 280,026 (2014). Population density: 67.2 per sq km. Capital: Papeete (Tahiti Island). Government: French Overseas Collectivity. Electricity: 110/220 volts AC (depending on the location), 60Hz. European-style plugs with two round pins and American-style plugs with two flat pins are in use.

Samoa and Tahiti. The story opens with various shots of a Pan Am aircraft coming in to land at American Samoa's airport. Various shots of the vehicles bringing the landing steps. Legs are seen passing by. There is a long shot of the beautiful tropical harbour at Pago Pago. A girl tourist dives into a hotel pool and tourists are served drinks. There are grass thatched huts nearby. A tourist couple head for the water at the beach. In Tahiti there is a display of Tahitian dancing with girls in hula grass skirts, inter cut with shots of tom tom drums, and primitive hollow tube instruments. A male dancer does some great knee shaking and the girls wriggle their hips in the traditional hula dance. (01:03:43) French influence on the island of Tahiti is shown by the French flag and the sign for the town hall ' Mairie', the Champs Elysees cafe, gendarme style police officers in uniform, and a boy carrying baguettes. This is seen in the capital, Papeete. A local fisherman hands fish from his boat to the harbour, followed by street scenes with 'China Town', markets and people of all ages on mopeds and scooters, known as velo's. No crash helmets in French Polynesia! The visit then moves on to a boat trip from Tahiti to Moorea, where there are native style grass huts on the tourist resort beach. A man goes snorkelling in clear water by the beach and gets a shell. A beautiful local girl with a red flower in her hair and a modern yellow bikini and mini sarong skirt, gets into a canoe. She and her male companion are seen launching off and canoeing out from the beach into idyllic blue waters. The story closes with a point of view shot from the back of a boat - showing the natural beauty of the island landscape behind. Note: print used for telecine transfer is quite badly scratched. Mute neg is badly cut. Cuts exist - see separate records. FILM ID:433.01 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. Warning for some bloody footage in this episode but it's not too bad. We left Grenada with Privateer, a Nautor Swan 60, to sail in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. We had some really awesome sailing up to Union Island and we sailed over the underwater volcano Kick'em Jenny. Chatham Bay was a lovely place and anchorage but little did we know that the plans would change drastic when Malin got a 10 kg heavy hatch that fell on her big toe. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe.

Join us on our rescue mission as we attempt to retrieve Shascha, our new crew member that was arriving from Russia and deported by St Maarten immigration. In a nutshell, Shascha had all the necessary documentation and Visa with her passport on arrival to St Maarten, but Immigration had implemented a brand new rule outlining that anyone arriving as 'crew' was now considered to be a working employee and required to have an import permit issued before their arrival on the island... only problem is nobody knew and they never told anyone until they actually arrived... NICE! Oh well, sometimes through hardships and the actions of over-zealous officials that take their jobs WAY too seriously, new adventures are born... so join us on our mission and attempt to rescue Shascha!
